:: summer flies in the winter ::

December 3, 2011

Last night I put the finishing stitches into the Summer Flies shawl I began last week.  The last few rows honestly took as long to knit as the whole shawl up to that point.  There were nearly 400 stitches per row and the bind off was picot, which added to the overall time needed to finish it.

This was my first lace shawl project and, I have to say that I am smitten!  The yarn was wonderful to knit with, the colours were lush and vibrant and I didn’t need to worry about vertical repeats of pattern (which are often my downfall when attempting to knit lace).

So without further ado….

Psst….those of you loving the yarn can go check out spinheartspin
