:: to grandmother’s house we go ::

September 30, 2010

We spent the past weekend at my parent’s house while attending an appointment for Ava’s Irlen Screening (I’ll post pics of her pretty new purple lenses when we get them!)

Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

    So cool about the Irlen screening! I never had any students who had actual glasses, but I had a few use colored overlays while reading and doing paperwork. The difference was astounding!

      Joy, it was really neat to watch her screening and diagnostic appointments. You could hear fluency improve with the overlays. They would take them off and it would be halting speech, or if it was not the correct colour the flow would not be as smooth. They would literally calm her down just by looking through them also.

      I’m going to do a whole post about it when we get the lenses, it really is a feasible option!
